Some of the most common MLM mistakes that most of us have made can easily be avoided. Some mistakes hide behind tradition, others are well disguised. We can avoid them by simply becoming aware of what they are.
Take action that will build your business. Shortly after joining a multi level marketing company, excitement levels will be sky high. A common mlm mistake that is made at this point is people will devote all their time getting ready to get started. They will set up their office, read all the product information, listen to all the tapes and watch all the videos. Yes these things are important but they will not build your business. The thing that will build your business is selling products and signing up distributors. The best time to do this is when your enthusiasm is high. Remember people are attracted to energetic enthusiastic individuals. It is not important in the beginning to know the answer to every question, that's what your upline is for. Relax, your enthusiasm will sell your program.
Do not let your enthusiasm be swayed by others. You are looking for a select group of people that are open to new business ideas. Not everyone falls into that category and that is ok. Many people instantly reject new ideas, our job is to find the ones that embrace it. It is a fact that you will have to talk to people that are not interested in what you have to offer in order to find the ones that are. Do not let the none interested burst your enthusiastic bubble, remember they are one step away from a yes.
Another of the common MLM mistakes is that people do not treat their multi level marketing business like a business. Some even think its some kind of get rich quick plan. If that is what you are looking for, may I suggest buying a lottery ticket. Like any business, you must invest both time and money into multi level marketing if you expect to generate income. The good news is your investment of time and money will be far far less than that of traditional businesses with the earning potential being far greater.
It is some what insane to do the same thing over and over and expect totally different results. Yet this is what so many MLMers do. The old school technique of contacting friends, family and acquaintances to either purchase products or to join your opportunity only works for a small percentage of people. But because of what is suggested by the company and what we are told by our upline we continue to do things that do not work for us over and over again. If you are one of the fortunate few that can successfully build a large downline utilizing these techniques, all the power to you. However, if you are not experiencing the success you would like, do not make the mistake of continuing the way you are marketing. By learning how to effectively use the internet you will be able to have huge amounts of people contacting you daily to both purchase products and join your opportunity.
The last of my common mlm mistakes is that people simply quit, which is a big mistake. Tell yourself that quitting is not an option. You started your business for a reason, keep your eye on that reason, your prize. Simply never but never quit.
